50 birds, the exhibition

Gestileerde vogelprenten in vierkant formaat. Een grote rietgors, kleinere huismus, turkse tortel en strandloper, heel kleine ekster, gekraagde roodstaart, gele kwikstaart en staartmees.

In 2018, artist and printmaker Roy Scholten set himself the task to design and print fifty birds using LEGO bricks as the printing matter. Early 2024, the last bird print came off the press. The complete series will be on show for the first time in Grafisch Atelier Hilversum from April 14.

Private viewing

Friday April 12, 5 - 9 pm.
Get the first look at the exhibition during this private viewing. The first 18 of 20 prints have been sold for all designs currently marked as sold out. During the exhibition the two remaining prints numbers 19 and 20 will be available for purchase. Please send a message if you'd like to come.

Opening

Sunday April 14, 3pm.
Come and join me at the opening! A short documentary about the 50 birds project will premiere that day as well.

Visit the exhibition on Wednesdays, Thurdsays and Fridays between 1 and 5 pm. Other times by appointment.

Workshop LEGO letterpress

Want to experiment and print using the Hilversum Method? Join one of the workshops. Friday May 17 for a half day, Saturday the 18th for a full day of LEGO letterpress printing. More info to follow, or email if interested.
