The Common Kestrel is bird of the year 2025 in The Netherlands.
This means that both the Bird Protection Society (Vogelbescherming)
and Sovon are paying extra attention to this species this year. Sovon is the
knowledge center that researches the distribution and trends of wild birds
in the Netherlands. This year, three research projects will provide more
insight into the kestrel's population and well-being.
Roy Scholten will donate ten percent of the proceeds from sales of the Common
Kestrel print to Sovon to support this important work.

The Common Kestrel was hand-printed on a traditional proofing press, using LEGO
bricks as the printing formes. In two limited editions: 25 on gray, 25 on white
paper.
